Head of School
Greetings! I have had the privilege of serving as the Head of School at La Crescent Montessori & STEM School since 2017. My life prior to joining the school has focused on education in a variety of venues. I have served as the Head of School at another Montessori charter school and spent eleven years as an elementary Montessori educator in charter and private schools. I have also worked as a Montessori consultant and Dean of Schools and in the midst of all of this, spent several years homeschooling my children. Montessori education is my passion and, as you may guess from my work history, so is school choice.
In addition to my work at LMSS, I supervise Montessori student teachers for the University of Wisconsin at River Falls and instruct courses for the Christian Montessori Training Center at Bethany Global University. I have an MA degree in Education from St. Catherine University and am Montessori certified at the elementary level.
I am married and have three amazing daughters. They are my favorite people to spend time with and we love to travel and spend time at out cabin. Other things that bring me joy include gardening, hiking, camping, reading and cooking.
Being part of LMSS has been a wonderful experience and I am especially excited about the innovative educational option it provides to the community. I love sharing the news of this amazing little school with everyone who will listen and look forward to watching LMSS grow as others discover the best kept secret in La Crescent.
Director of Operations
I began working at LMSS in 2012 as the Director of Financial Operations. My position morphed into what it is today, and I officially accepted the position of Director of Operations in 2017. I enjoy helping to ensure the success of the students and school through my work in the office.
I was born and raised in the area, graduating from ISD300 many years ago. High school was a favorite time in my life, until, of course, I met my husband, Jason. We married in 2006 and have one son together. His name is Hunter, and he attends La Crescent Montessori & STEM School.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading and watching movies. In addition, I am an avid supporter of community involvement and volunteerism. Currently, my volunteer passion is focused on Applefest here in La Crescent. I love that LMSS encourages the students to look beyond themselves to positively impact the world around them through kindness, education and volunteerism.
